“Carbon farming has kept our young family on the land and in the community. It has had a positive impact on our community”.
Climate Friendly’s vision is for a productive, sustainable land sector that contributes to a zero net emission Australia by 2050. We achieved 20 million tonnes of greenhouse gas reductions at the end of 2020, and our purpose is to scale up to 100 million tonnes by 2025.
We do this by supporting rural, regional and remote Australians including farmers, foresters and traditional custodians to reduce Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions and regenerate the landscape through carbon farming.
We’re ambitious. But we’ve already achieved so much – and we’re determined to help Australia tap into its potential to tackle the climate challenge through the land sector.
As a ‘profit for purpose’ company, we measure our success by more than just our bottom line. Instead, we’re motivated by freedom and flexibility for carbon farmers, sustainability for the land, and a bright future for the next generation.
As a foundation signatory of the Australian Carbon Industry Code of Conduct and an Australian Financial Services licensee, we have committed to developing and conducting our business in line with industry best practice, and interacting with our carbon farmers and partners in a professional and ethical manner.
Climate Friendly is committed to actively supporting Australian regional communities and advancing the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander reconciliation process through a partnership approach.

What our carbon farming partners say
“Carbon farming has been a good asset,” he says. When the livestock industry’s not doing too well due to low prices or drought, we still have a regular income from carbon farming.”
Michael MarshmanCarbon farmer, south of Bourke NSW
“Carbon farming provides early cash returns in an industry where there has never been a quick return on investment. Climate Friendly is a great partner – the staff are sincere and they have runs on the board with carbon project development in other sectors”.
Robert DownieTasmanian Plantation Estate Operator
“These projects are breathing new life to the area and bringing Budjiti people back to country, some of which we haven’t been back to for 100 years. The projects are good for cultural heritage, the environment and bringing together all members of the community ”
